London so close to a white Christmas as snow finally forecast

The chance of London seeing a white Christmas this year is so close - yet currently, it looks as though snow won't actually fall on the day itself. While the city has already seen its first flurries of snow, one weather forecaster is suggesting we will be getting more before the year is out - but not on Christmas Day itself.

According to forecasters WX Charts, London is due to finally get some more snow in the week of Christmas itself, but a day late for those who want to wake up to blanket of white on Christmas Day. Currently, snow is predicted for Boxing Day, with a wave forecast to pass through London from the North West from the early hours of December 26.

At present, Christmas Day is looking dry in London, with a bit of rain due a couple of days earlier, on December 23. Other forecasters haven't yet released their weather predictions for Christmas Day itself, with the BBC only reaching December 24.

Christmas Eve is due to be around 8C, with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze, the forecaster says. However, the forecast does go as far as 5am on December 25, and there's going to be some rain overnight into Christmas Day they say.

It's going to be matching a similar weather pattern we're due to see for most of December - temperatures of around 10C, with sunny intervals, patches of rain and gentle breezes.
