Jon Jones has apologised to any fans offended after he was filmed shooting a wild boar from a helicopter.
The former UFC light-heavyweight champion, who is currently preparing to move up to heavyweight, is currently taking some time away to properly pack on the pounds.
But before he can face the winner of the rematch between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou, Jones has had to issue an apology.
‘Bones’ is a keen exponent of firearms and his right to defend himself, even chasing an intruder off his property with a shotgun and then using the footage on social media.
However, his latest video showing him shooting a boar with an automatic rifle and then proceeding to unleash several seemingly unnecessary shots has irked plenty on Instagram.
The video was captioned on Instagram with: “One shot, one kill, lots of bacon.
“Was an honor [sic] hunting with medal of honor [sic] recipient Patrick Payne.”
It did not go down well with his legion of fans, with many slamming him.
One declared: “You can't post this.”
Another said: “Shooting an animal from a helicopter is weak. That's not hunting.”
The 33-year-old responded with: “I apologize if this video makes some of you guys uncomfortable, at the same time I’m excited for my shipment of meat to get to Albuquerque.
“I took my time with that first shot to make sure the animal did not suffer.
“Bet half you guys that are offended eats sausages and bacon on a daily basis.”
