As a teenage mother who aspired to become a physician, Dr. Nichole Saphire has encountered numerous obstacles. People cautioned her that having a boy at such a young age would be detrimental to her career, but she was determined to dispel this “notorious connotation of adolescent pregnancy.”
She labored diligently and eventually used her story to encourage young women. Her pregnancy did not mark the end of her story. Instead, it contributed to her growth as a physician at one of the world’s leading cancer hospitals.

Radiologist in the U.S. Dr. Saphier is a physician who practices full-time and also contributes to Fox News. The author of “Make America Healthy Again” is also the director of breast imaging at the New York City cancer treatment and research hospital Memorial Sloan Lettering Monmouth.
She gave birth as a teenager
Saphire was born in Scottsdale, and her family includes attorneys, pharmacists, and business leaders. Her father is an attorney, whereas her mother is a psychotherapist.
She desired to contribute to medicine as a professional physician, so she set out to become the family’s first medical doctor, only to encounter challenges along the way.
During her senior year of high school, she conceived. While many believed that having a young child would ruin her life, she took comfort in being able to make her own decisions rather than being forced to undergo an unsafe abortion.
Fear and embarrassment dominated the avalanche of feelings I had upon learning of my pregnancy at the start of my senior year of high school, Saphire wrote for Fox News in May 2018.
She made the decision to have her first kid after much consideration. Nick Pagoria was born when she was 18 years old, just prior to her high school graduation.
In September 2020, Saphire clarified to the Independent Women’s Forum that her decision to have a son at such a young age was not influenced by any political or religious ideas. She stated that her choice was motivated by emotion and a sense of duty.
Dr. Saphire continued by stating that if the same had occurred decades before, she may have opted for an unsafe abortion or concealed her pregnancy.
Since this was not the case for her, she was thankful that she could choose life for her kid.
On the other side, she pursued her medical ambitions while raising a child. Today, her perseverance has paid off.
Nicole, currently married to Dr. Paul Saphier
Dr. Saphire is now also a married woman. Her husband is neurosurgeon Dr. Paul Saphier, whom she met at a medical conference in Arizona. Nicole was a medical student, whereas Paul is an intern. They met in a bar, just as in the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
In addition, Dr. Paul is a native of New Jersey who graduated in the top one-third of his class from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, where he got his medical degree. He finished his fellowship in Neurological Surgery at the Department of Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Nicole is the mother of three sons due to the fact that the Saphires have two sons. The family of five resides together.
